Anyone know of any free Mp3 converters? Been using DBpower for months now and all of a sudden it has come up telling me time is up for using it unless I pay for the upgrade.

Had that trouble myself Andy. It was the power pack if I remember rightly - it came up saying your trail has finished

If you decide to pay for something, grab Adobe
Audition - its 'Save as mp3' options are brilliant.

Ian has something in the pipeline, but may need to think about paying for some software. Windvd comes with an option to upgrade.

Go on, you frugal swine, it's only ?100 or so.
I suppose there's always pirate copies, but I
couldn't condone such a thing of course.

Check out what you're missing, anyway, at:
http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html
Maybe download a tryout version first - it's
fully functional, I think.

It is a lovely thing - honest.

I can't recommend Audition enough really. Logic,
Wavelab, Soundforge (et al.) are all great, in
their own way, but Audition (formerly known as
Cool Edit Pro) is a really great all-rounder.

For what it does, the price is quite amazing.
I'm sure Adobe will fuck it up, eventually, and
give it a silvery, curved, pseudo-OS X makeover,
so it looks like the rest of their products, but
until then, it's pure loveliness. I actually
recorded two songs with it last night - but I
was a bit drunk, and they sound awful today (I think).
